Old shelves are down and walls patched

The lounge. And our new washer and dryer arrive!
The dining room
The kitchen
The back deck
Looking into the kitchen from the back door. We are going to get the floors refinished. They are in bad shape in here.
The back garden - needs a bit of TLC
Patchy grass and silly stones marking the boundary of the beds.
The side yard with the gate at the front. More patchy grass and also overgrown roses along the fence.
Master bedroom. Going to get wood floors installed before we move in.
Master bathroom.
More master bathroom.

I take up all the silly rocks lining the front bed and prune the roses.
We paint the ceiling in the loungs though I'm not sure you can tell in this picture. It's a pale blue. - 14 Mar
The ceilig is all painted and the floors refinished. Love the new floor color!
So happy with these floors!
New floor in master bedroom, looking beautiful in the sunshine.
We decide to paint the fireplace - the lounge will be whites, blues and greys and the beige just doesn't go with that color scheme. - 19 Mar
Painted. Not great with the green but I'm sure it will look great with the blue once the walls are painted.
We get a Weber - bring on the meat! - 23 Mar
Why isn't there any silicone between worktop and upstand!?
Just a place to capture dirt.
Kitchen cleaned and siliconed. New sisal rug down to protect the floor. You can really see the blue in the ceiling here too. - 26 Mar
I start to clean the window sills. Has anyone ever cleaned these!? Before on left. After on right.
Close-up of before and after. Only 12 more windows to go!
New rug for the lounge and furniture all in place. - 4 Apr
I start to edge the rose bed on the side of the house - 6 Apr
And I carry on around the whole back yard, taking up the stupid stones and establishing a clean edge

Nicely edged side yard now. So much better!
Carol buys us a Jasmine - can't wait for the flowers!
just more backyard pics
working our way around the yard edging it and weeding (Carol helps a lot!!)
Need some weeding at the bottom of the deck stairs
All tidy and weeded
Nicely edged
Looking good with edging done - just need to get rid of the cairns of stones now.
The loft has become a bit of a dumping ground. - 13 Apr
We start to get organized with our new DIY shelves
Tryiing to make some sense of the mess

Nick is away fishing for the weekend so I decide it's time to paint the lounge. Can't wait!
OMG! It is so much brighter now. LOVE LOVE LOVE it!
And the hallway is painted too. Now just need to do all the woodwork!
Starting on the woodwork - After to the left, before to the right. They were seriously discolored! - 1 May
Roses going wild in the garden
Nick installing the shelving
The closet all completed - each side has shelves, a tall rail and double rails. So much storage!
Nick's side
Fully populated now. Tons of hanging room!
Vicki is in town for the Mother's day weekend and we're going to rip out those tall cypresses - 7 May
Yeah! You can see the house now!!
We also take out the fake pavers in the side yard.
Nick and dad rebuild the garden gate so that it's no longer falling apart. Success! - 8 May
The jasmine is going wild and smells lovely. We get a cherry tomato plant as well.
We attach th back deck joists to the house - as advised by the home inspection before we bought the house
It's time for those Yew trees to come out.
Gone! (and the variagated things too)
We start to paint the dining room - 21 May
The beige is just so....beige.
Nick starts on the cutting in. Soon I take over.
We paint the dining room - there are not many walls so the dark blue is not too overpowering. - 21 May
Very happy with how this has turned out.
Now to paint the master bedroom. This is the existing blue - makes the room very dark.
The other side of the room.
We're going to paint the swing on the front porch the same blue as the dining room - 22 May
The bedroom is painted (well, except for the woodwork). Much brighter, even with the dark blue wall. - 22 May
