Jess' room at very beginning of our work. The board at back wall was in chimney breast. badly. we are doing it properly.

We decide to move the sockets from waist height to foot height. We think this room was a kitchen in years past.

Touched up walls and switches moved, ready for painting

It onlyl takes a gentle tug to pull the electrical cable from the wall. The plaster is not all it should be!

Nick using steamer to remove every last bit of paint from Jessica's ceiling. What an awful chore!

Skirting board removed, plastering of wall begun and the stripping of the ceiling continues. What a mess!

Laura in her new DIY coveralls

Note that my hair is covered in plaster dust, not grey hairs!

The stripped ceiling and streaky wall from the steamer

I won't quit my day job but it's not bad plastering if I do say so myself.

The walls and the radiator are now painted!

Pretty new skirting board where once there was none.

Carpet up ready to paint the skirting boards

New light fixture

New curtain rod and holdbacks. The rod is now straight by the way, not raised in the centre like the pic shows

Repairing floorboards. All sorts of strange crap under those boards!

Jess begins moving into her new room

Jess' wardrobe. This pic shows the wall colours more accurately than most.

Jess' new little purple lamp and a bed full of boxes.

Jess' drawers and desk

And the family bathroom gets a whole lot roomier once Jess' boxes move out

Jess's bed of course
